Question d'origine :
Bonjour,
Je vous remercie tout d'abord pour l'existence même de ce service.
Voilà, j'ai deux questions en tête qui en fait se rejoignent dans un seul et même intérêt.
Première question. Je souhaiterais obtenir quelques références bibliographiques relatives à la question du secret médical dans la société contemporaine. Comment vivre, en pratique, cette exigence dans le cadre d'une société qui nous fait injonction aujourd'hui d'être dans le vrai, la sincérité, la transparence, le souci de l'écoute... ?
Deuxième question. Pourriez-vous m'indiquer quelques ouvrages relatifs précisément à cette question de la mise en publicité de la confidence ? Quels sont les enjeux et les significations de cette tendance, sur la scène publique et médiatique, au dévoilement de soi, à la confession, au témoignage édifiant de soi pour autrui ?
Autant de questions importantes mais qui me laissent dans un relatif embarras...

« La passion de la transparence : secret professionnel et espace public
La société est en proie à un impératif de liberté qui justifie la protection des secrets mais subit les effets, à première vue contraires, de sa nouvelle passion : la transparence. Selon le doyen Jacques Carbonnier, cet idéal de transparence est la conjugaison inquiétante de la passion de la vérité, de la vertu, du contrôle, du soupçon et du droit. »

Cet ouvrage pose clairement les très nombreux domaines que touchent vos interrogations (« A la frontière entre différentes notions – intimité, dépôt (déposition d’un secret), donc propriété, contrat (ou plutôt « pacte de confidentialité »), transparence -, le secret professionnel revêt une dimension éthique (déontologie, morale) et une dimension civique (sacrifice et charge). » (dans le résumé du chapitre cité).
Il comporte par ailleurs un chapitre intitulé « Principes et pratiques d’un secret : le secret médical », qui vous intéressera particulièrement. Enfin les notes bibliographiques qui parcourent tous les chapitres vous donneront des références fort utiles.
Pour votre deuxième question, l’ouvrage essentiel paraît être L’intimité surexposée, de Serge Tisseron.
« Avec le développement d'Internet, avec le développement du portable, la revendication de l'intimité est en train de changer: il ne s'agit plus de se faire reconnaître par un petit nombre de gens proches, mais d'avoir la reconnaissance de la masse et éventuellement des inconnus. Comme la nouvelle génération a souvent grandi en étant filmée par les parents, elle grandit des deux cotés du poste. Pour les jeunes, la télévision prolonge naturellement leur intimité. Ils veulent s'exposer. Plus encore que "pour être célèbre", c'est pour se faire reconnaître dans ce qu'ils peuvent avoir de plus spécifique. Ce n'est pas imiter quelqu'un de célèbre, c'est devenir célèbre par son originalité, en ne renonçant pas à soi. J'appelle ce phénomène le désir "d'extimité". »

Il y aurait bien d'autres pistes éventuelles, mais ces ouvrages ou pages web, souvent munies de bibliographie, vous en donneront un large aperçu. Les pistes ici évoquées vous permettront aussi de mesurer l'ampleur de cette "mutation anthropologique", et surtout l'ampleur des réactions qu'elles suscitent, entre rêve de démocratie citoyenne égalitaire et peur d'une société de contrôle égoïste.
