Bonjour,
J'ai trouvé sur le site du Warburg Institute cette image extraite du MS 245 . Il s'agit du folio130v du MS245 (https://iconographic.warburg.sas.ac.uk/ ... cord=84620)
Elle est présentée comme provenant de la BM de Lyon mais je ne parviens pas à la retrouver sur votre site qui présente pourtant de nombreuses pages du MS 245. J'aimerais connaître son sens ainsi que l'autre image du Nouveau Testament à laquelle elle doit être associée dans le Speculum HS.

Nous vous remercions grandement de cette très intéressante question qui touche à l'iconographie d'une des oeuvres les plus diffusées à la fin du Moyen Age, le Speculum Humanae Salvationis.
Vous avez trouvé l'image sur le site du Warburg Institute. Celle-ci provient bien du Ms 245 des collections de la Bibliothèque municipale de Lyon (notice du catalogue collectif de France) et vous la retrouvez -ainsi que celle avec laquelle elle est associée- sur la base Enluminures dans numelyo. On constate donc que ce qui est décrit comme "Pharaon tenant Moïse enfant" est en réalité une mésinterprétation d'un motif.
La précision est bien signalée par le Warburg institute, comme "According to a prophecy of Jeremias the Egyptians would one day venerate the image of a virgin with her child → Variant:
D'après une étude iconographique du Speculum humanae salvationis de Lyon, réalisée en 2003 par Carole Brac de la Perrière sous la direction de Nicolas Reveyron, il semble que le miniaturiste a opéré par deux fois ce "remplacement" dans le manuscrit 245 (au chapitre XI et XV). Cette figure ne semble pas avoir été particulièrement popularisée par le Speculum humanae salvationis contrairement à celle issue de la tradition hébraïque (cf. Antiquités judaïques de Flavius Josèphe) qui évoque Moïse brisant la couronne de Pharaon.
Comme vous aurez pu le constater, sur la base Enluminures précédemment citée, la figure de l'Ancien Testament (l'image étant dite non-biblique sur le site du Warburg Institute) est associée à la fuite en Egypte (source IRHT) du Nouveau Testament. Marie assise sur l'âne tient l'enfant Jésus dans ses bras et Joseph se retourne pour les regarder avec bienveillance tout en tenant la bride de la monture car il conduit le voyage. La représentation de la chute d'un petit personnage brun d'une colonne évoque la projection au sol du temple des 365 idoles à l'approche de Jésus.
Cette combinaison de scènes de l'Ancien et du Nouveau Testament est caractéristique du Speculum humanae salvationis qui adopte une méthode typologique. C'est une façon de lire l'Ecriture reposant sur l'idée que chaque fait du Nouveau Testament est annoncé par des scènes de l'Ancien Testament. Cette concordance -ou symbolisme typologique- est bien développée par Louis Réau dans le premier volume de son ouvrage phare Iconographie de l'Art chrétien.

Nous tenions à compléter notre première réponse par les précisions suivantes :
- l'approche typologique du Speculum Humanae Salvationis induit une organisation en cycle de 4 images par bi-feuillet dans le Ms 245 de la Bibliothèque municipale de Lyon, où le "type" (ou évènement du Nouveau Testament) de la fuite en Egypte est mis en regard de 3 "antétypes" (épisodes de l'Ancien Testament) : l'idole égyptienne d'une vierge à l'enfant, Moïse enfant ayant brisé la couronne de Pharaon et le songe de Nabuchodonosor.
- De nombreux exemplaires de manuscrits comportant la représentation de l'idole égyptienne d'une vierge à l'enfant sont listés sur le site du Warburg Institute qui analyse fort bien le cycle iconographique du Speculum Humanae Salvationis.
