Bonjour,
je m'interroge sur les differentes sensations de bonheur (inhibition des peurs,...) apportées par l'alcool et leur origine (culturelle,...).
Par exemple, un fait très simple à remarquer: lorsque vous avez des invités personne parle jusqu'à ce que l'apéritif centré autour d'un verre d'alcool soit servi !

L'alcool opère des modifications immédiates au cours de l'ivresse : toutes les fonctions cérébrales sont atteintes et les fonctions les plus élaborées - qui concernent le traitement de l'information et la prise de décision - sont les plus perturbées.
L'alcool agit sur le système nerveux central, en modifiant à la fois les états de conscience et le comportement. Les effets sont multiples : hypnotique, anesthésique, tranquillisant et désinhibateur.

L'action désinhibitrice se combine aux effets sédatifs en de nombreuses circonstances.
A faible dose, l’alcool se comporte comme un sédatif entraînant détente, euphorie, levée des inhibitions, endormissement.
L’alcool passe directement du tube digestif aux vaisseaux sanguins, il n’est pas transformé, et le sang le transporte en quelques minutes dans tout le corps. Au niveau du cerveau, il augmente la disponibilité d'une substance :
La quantité d’alcool circulant dans le sang peut être mesurée par le dosage de l’alcoolémie. Le taux est influencé par le poids, le sexe, le moment de la consommation, l’association au repas, à la prise de médicaments ou d’autre(s) drogue(s).

De nombreux ouvrages étudient les raisons culturelles d’une image positive de l’alcool dans nos civilisations : ivresse sacrée, apport thérapeutique, convivialité et lien social, traditions concourent à l’associer à une certaine idée de bonheur. Même si, depuis le XIXe siècle,on reconnaît les puissances nocives de l’alcool, le « Bien boire » reste une valeur, surtout quand il s’agit du vin, dans les sociétés occidentales.
Le vin et le divin, de Jean-Robert Pitte étudie la symbolique religieuse et mystique des boissons fermentées :
« Les livres sacrés et les rites des grandes religions du monde entretiennent d’étroites relations avec les boissons fermentées. L’euphorie voire l’ivresse qu’elles procurent sont réputées favoriser l’accés au divin – seuls les musulmans doivent attendre le paradis pour jouir de leurs bienfaits. Vin, bière, saké, pulque, vin de palme sont au cœur des cultures animiste, polythéiste, chrétienne ou bouddhiste. L’Eucharistie, qui invite les fidèles à communier au sang du Christ sous les apparences du vin, est à l’origine de la diffusion mondiale de la vigne jusqu’à l’équateur et aux confins du cercle polaire » (4ème de couv.)
Alcool, c’est mauvais parce que c’est bon !, d’Elisabeth Dolard présente la croyance ancestrale en la vertu thérapeutique de l’alcool (chap. III « Alcool doit »), associé à la force, la vitalité, la chaleur, l’énergie. Il est également loué pour ses vertus antiseptiques, anesthésiques et calmantes. Le chapitre IV « Alcool foi » aborde le lien entre l’alcool et le sacré. Lié à la liturgie et aux rites sacerdotaux, l’alcool est le médiateur (du culte de Dionysos à la communion chrétienne) entre l’humain et le divin. Dans le chapitre suivant, « Alcool joie », l’auteur montre l’association de l’alcool avec les fêtes, les rencontres, les célébrations rituelles et l’exaltation des sens et des sensations qu’il entraîne.
Modération et sobriété : études sur les usages sociaux de l’alcool, de Ludovic Gassot, développe aussi ces thématiques :
« La mémoire du vin enferme un imaginaire fécond : le vin, identifié au sang, symbolise souvent la vie et l’immortalité ; le vin et l’ivresse (physique ou spirituelle) symbolisent la connaissance et l’initiation. […]. On peut, […] distinguer différentes topiques de l’imaginaire du vin :
- Dionysos et la catharsis sociale confèrent au vin, symbole de la fête, une vertu régénératrice du corps social. […]
- L’imaginaire judéo-chrétien, à travers certaines scènes cruciales comme l’histoire de Noé (la vigne et l’ivresse), les noces de Cana (l’eau changée en vin, première manifestation de la divinité du Christ), la Cène et l’Eucharistie (« buvez car ceci est mon sang ») identifie le vin « sang de la vigne » au ferment divin, ferment de la convivialité, symbole du lien social et de la fraternité ;
- L’imaginaire totémique hisse le vin au rang de boisson totem. […] Ce totem national exprime si bien l’identité culturelle française, notamment, qu’il paraît difficile d’y toucher […]
- L’imaginaire thérapeutique prête au vin des vertus médicinales, changeantes selon les époques. […]
- L’imaginaire poétique enseigne que le vin libère la muse du poète, et donne de l’esprit aux gens qui en sont dépourvus.
- L’imaginaire alchimique permet au buveur de recueillir vigueur et énergie dans cette transmutation naturelle et mystérieuse. » [… ] p. 19-20.
L’auteur parle aussi de l’alcool comme métaphore du lien social et met à jour les aspects rituels de sa consommation.

L’ouvrage du même auteur La culture de l’ivresse : essai de phénoménologie historique explore l’imaginaire de l’ivresse, inscrite historiquement dans notre culture. Outre les thèmes déjà évoqués, elle montre que « Si l’enivrement est toujours une aventure organique, une ivresse « des sens », plus ou moins perturbés dans leurs fonctions habituelles par une intoxication biochimique, elle est aussi une expérience de l’imagination, de l’esprit et de l’intelligence.[I] » « [I]C’est la conscience cénesthésique de soi, celle qui consiste à s’approprier son propre corps et sa propre présence physique au monde, qui est modifié dans l’état d’ivresse. » (p. 26).
« Le boire enivrant calme l’anticipation anxieuse du pire. Un de ses rôles le plus communément perçu, consiste en partie à rendre supportables les diverses menaces qui pèsent sur le sujet sobre […] » (p. 149).
La page 155 fait écho à votre dernière remarque : « Après la première gorgée, les rires, les discussions « fusent », et une sorte de soulagement euphorique, qui n’est pas encore dû à l’effet de l’alcool, se fait sentir alors : un cap est passé, lequel ? L’anthropologue prononcerait peut-être ici le mot de rituel , un rituel dont la contrainte sociale n’a d’égale que le peu d’obligation « juridique » explicite, un rituel désacralisé, qui peut se dérouler sans cérémoniel, « à la bonne franquette », et qui marque dans nos sociétés « modernes » le jeu incessant des interactions sociales : aucun groupe amené à « faire société » dans une durée plus ou moins longue ne peut se passer du « pot » donné à une occasion ou à une autre, de façon plus ou poins formelle. » (voir toute la suite de ce chapitre intitulé « Le lien social », qui souligne les liens entre l’enivrement et la fête (associés, ils permettent d’être autre, de jouer avec les distances et les hiérarchies) et rapproche l’ivresse du boire et l’ivresse sexuelle – « scénario d’une montée et d’une redescente, d’une perte des limites de soi, d’une chute en spirale hors de la verticalité ».
